Hello Soar Kidz! My Mr. Mike and I am very excited to work with you. I have been a teacher for 15 years and have helped thousands of students improve their reading and writing skills. I keep my teaching philosophy very simple: high challenge and low pressure. As a result, you can expect to read difficult texts in my classes and be asked difficult questions. However, you'll also find that I am relaxed, flexible, cheerful, and kind. This approach has allowed students to reach their potential and made classes meaningful and engaging at the same time. I love teaching all aspects of English, but most especially I love studying literature. There are so many great books to read and getting to discuss them with students is always the highlight of my day! My favorite book for middle school students is The Outsiders. I think all middle school children should read that book because it relates so well to things young people are going through at that time in their life, and it does so in a way that is exciting and fun to read. I very much look forward to getting to know all of you!. Let's Soar together!
